Holiday Greetings from Your SnipeToday Editors

It's been almost two years since our "Site for All Snipe Sailors" went online. And now at the center of our web site are the sailors of all fleets, all countries, at all levels and ambitions. What unites us is our passion for a quirky 15-foot boat. When we started two years ago few knew of the site. Now we have more than 600 subscribers to the weekly SnipeToday Digest. In 2013, SnipeToday.org scored about 185,000 visits and about 5,300,000 views. During the World Championship, our Facebook page recorded a peak of 2,740 visitors in one day. It's nice to know that no matter where you sail (North America, South America, Japan, Europe), or whether you've met us in person, SnipeToday is a space where you can share news and exchange experiences. We're grateful to the more than 80 authors who have contributed to our site. Thanks to all of you, we have covered many regattas around the world, large or small, from almost every Snipe country. It’s been almost two years since our “Site for All Snipe Sailors” went online.

It’s nice to know that no matter where you sail (North America, South America, Japan, Europe), or whether you’ve met us in person, SnipeToday is a space where you can share news and exchange experiences.

We’re grateful to the more than 80 authors who have contributed to our site. Thanks to all of you, we have covered many regattas around the world, large or small, from almost every Snipe country.

We have also tried to share the personalities of many Snipe sailors, whether they are well-known world champions or local sailors. The famous “14 questions” are emblematic: at the center of our activities are the sailors! We are also working to collect information about our fleets, to learn about the history, the activities and the regattas hosted by the various groups around the world. If you have a fleet story to share, please send it to [email protected].

In 2013 we also encouraged debate and discussion about how to promote our class. The discussion brought out some ideas that can be followed and imitated by other fleets. We’ll continue to encourage such debate going forward.

We are very pleased to begin the third year of SnipeToday. Our wish for the coming year is to improve the site, to have more and more authors and more and more fans. Please do not hesitate to contact us, to give us suggestions, and of course to send us news, stories, photos, videos.

Merry Christmas, and see you on the water!
