Help! A friend recently gave me a McLaughlin snipe which he never rigged or sailed. I am anxious to get it out on the water but I am having a hard time figuring out the standard rigging, especially the headstay. With the mast up and shrouds attached how much tension should there be on the headstay? Mine seeems to have a lot of slack. Doesn't the jib luff attach to the headstay?

I suggest you to check some tuning guides (for example look at the Quantum Sails website). There you can find a lot of information.
