Talamone, March 2-3, 2013. Report and results
For those who come from northern Italy and go up the hill that separates the sea from the high road "Aurelia," the view of the Bay of Talamone is always a spectacle that leaves you breathless.
Sun and good wind characterized the five races held at Snipe Bay this first weekend of March. Along with Snipes were a dozen 29ers, sailing in a national regatta.
Saturday the wind blew from the east 7-18 knots. As often happens when the wind is offshore, the wind was very unstable in direction.
Talamone, March 17, 2013. Report by Alberto Perdisa
Spring temperatures, sun and wind from 5 to 10 knots characterized the two races sailed in Talamone on Sunday, February 17.
The race course was located near shore, which made the races challenging and difficult to understand with many changes of positions.

The races scheduled on February 3rd are postponed to other dates

Talamone, November 2-4, 2012. Regatta report by Augie Diaz.
We sailed for the second time in Talamone in the Winter Trophy Classe Snipe held on November 1-4. Sailing in Talamone’s “Snipe Bay” as it is called, is nothing short of spectacular.
First there is the Town of Talamone, simply a beautiful spot in the south of Tuscany with its own castle atop a hill overlooking the entrance to Snipe Bay- magical, absolutely. Talamone’s beauty is that of dreams and the setting is so beautiful and unique that it was used in a recent 007/Bond movie- if you have been to Talamone, you recognize this instantly. From the water the views are such that it is hard to concentrate on the racing and you will catch yourself more than once in the middle of the race admiring the beauty around you.
Talamone, November 3, 2012. Three races today in medium wind form south east.
1. Augie Diaz & Kathleen Tocke, 5,25
2. Enrico Solerio & Sergio Simonetti, 7,75
3. Paolo Lambertenghi & Silvia Pederiva, 8,75

Heaven and paradise were two words we used frequently on the boat as we absorbed the spectacular venue and top-level competition. After years of dreaming, I’ve finally sailed the Piada. For those of you still dreaming, I would highly recommend it!
This year’s Piada was sailed in Talamone, where the wind ranged from perfect to just enough and gorgeous azure water reflected a deep turquoise with the richness of a cobalt blue. Add a few waves and bright sunny skies and it was truly heavenly. While the scenery was mesmerizing, it was important to stay focused amidst wind shifts and top-level competitors from Italy and abroad. The regatta report gives a good picture of the mix of both World and Italian champions on the water, competing in the true Snipe spirit of serious sailing and serious fun.
