The boat was a normal rowing boat with self- made sail and rudder. - 2) Your first time on a Snipe? My first time in a Snipe was the summer when I got 10 years. I was 9 at the time. - 3) The most bizarre thing that happened in a regatta? I cannot recall any specific occasion. I guess lots of bizarre things has happened during the years. - 4) What is the thing that most angers you in a race/regatta? When I do mistakes which I know that they are mistakes in advance but still I do them.

– 1) Your first time on a sailing boat?

– 2) Your first time on a Snipe?

My first time in a Snipe was the summer when I got 10 years. I was 9 at the time.

– 3) The most bizarre thing that happened in a regatta?

I cannot recall any specific occasion. I guess lots of bizarre things has happened during the years.

– 4) What is the thing that most angers you in a race/regatta?

When I do mistakes which I know that they are mistakes in advance but still I do them.

 

– 5) Which is the race/regatta that you remember with the most pleasure?

I guess it is my first regatta win at 10 years age.

– 6) And the race/regatta you would like to forget?

Many regattas ! Actually I do forget all regattas when they are over. I look forward for the next one.

– 7) Your “dream in the peak”? (Your sailing dream?)

No real dreams anymore but lots of small dreams.

– 8) Sailing goals for 2013, and beyond?

2013 I will do the circuit in March and sail some of the ranking series regattas in Finland and Sweden. The goal for this year is to try to win the Finnish Championship for the 12th time.

– 9) The most important people for you in sailing and in the Snipe?

Probably my first fleet captain Keijo Mättö who got me into Snipe sailing. Very important people are also my long lasting crews; Freddy Wegelius and Risto Valjus.

– 10) Why the Snipe?

A fun boat which you do not have to sail alone!

– 11) Your perfect sailing venue and your perfect sailing conditions?

I prefer strong wind and hopefully open sea conditions in a warm place as Nassau

– 12) Besides sailing which other sport do you practice?

I ski and play with skidoo during winter period and go to the gym. In summertime I try to squeeze lots of motorbike riding in between sailing events.

– 13) Are you superstitious?

No.

– 14) Your perfect holiday?

Somewhere in the sun where I can sail and ride motorbik
