2013 in Sweden

The sailing calendar for Sweden 2013 starts with the classic regatta Majsnipen 11-12 of May, for this year we have added a new event the Majgolfen a “golf tournament” the 10th of May for all sailors who also enjoy golf. The golf result will not be included in the regatta results so eventough you are not a golfer you should come to Lerkil (nearby Gothenburg) and sail Majsnipen. Majsnipen is the first WC qualifier for Sweden.

The weekend after Majsnipen we all set of for Denmark and Harboe Cup which always is a very nice regatta with a lot of participating boats. Harboe Cup is the second WC qualifier for Sweden.

During June we don´t have any Swedish regattas but for those who wants to race we recommend Musto Cup in Oslo (Norway) 1-2 june and if you really like to travel you should also attend the Norweigian Championship in Stavanger June 21-23.

The highlight of the Swedish season is the Nordic Snipe Week 1-6 of July, the week starts of with a two day clinic together with George Szabo, a one day regatta called Vätternsnipen and after that three days of racing, Swedish and Nordic Championship. This is the last WC qualification for us. During the Nordic Snipe Week we are planning to give everyone a nice time on and off the racecourse.

During August we don´t have any regattas planned so far and in september we hope to have two teams going to Rio. For the ones left at home we have a local regatta in Upplands-Väsby (nearby Stockholm) 21-22 September. Besides that you can also go to Oslo and sail Vikingsnipen 14-15 September.

The 19th of October we sail the Halloweenregatta in Stockholm during the aftersail we have our annual meeting.

We end the Swedish season with Copa di Lucia in Stockholm the 7th of December.
