2013 Classic Snipe Swap

Three “old geezers” sharing some reunion fun at the 2013 Classic Snipe Swap.

L to R, me, Dan Blodgett and John Albertson with our “new” old Classic Snipes. The wooden Snipe is 1966 Elms/Nute #16228 “Half Breed” (now politically incorrect) and the blue Snipe is 1967 fg Chubasco #17016 “Partisan”.

Albertson and Blodgett are now co-owners of #17016 which they both used to own at different times when racing in Seattle WA back in the 1970s, now that boat goes to Green Valley AZ.

#16228 was Tom Nute’s (first?) Snipe when he started racing Snipes in southern CA in the 1960s, now it is in Tacoma WA. Hey Snipe sailors and historians, this is a fun hobby. We can’t wait to get these boats all fixed up again for show and go.
