Dear Snipe friends!

The new Snipe season in Croatia is just ahead of us!

Season will start in Kostrena this April 20-21st where our friends from YC Galeb will surly prepare something special for the season opening.
Moscenicka Draga will follow on May 10-12. (the date was moved instead of canceled Trofeo "Lisa Rochelli"),where as usual we expect great wind conditions and usual dose of serious fun!

YC Uljanik from Pula is hosting their always great "Pula Snipe" on June 15-16, and finally on 6-7th of July we have already well known "Kvarner
Cup" in Omisalj as a second leg of the "Summer Circuit" one week after Piada Trophy.

- 3) The most bizarre thing that happened in a regatta?

We received an invitation for the Mediterranean Trophy (1989) from Ravenna. The mail was sent from Ravenna , but the regatta was in Talsano (Taranto). We went to Ravenna and asked where is Talsano. Afther that we understood that we had to go about 800 km to the south!

- 4) What is the thing that most angers you in a race/regatta?

When I make tactical mistakes.

- 5) Which is the race/regatta that you remember with the most pleasure?

When we won European champion ship in Germany 1989 in the 420 class, in strong wind conditions

After my article “Snipe Class and Class Promotion”, I received reports, ideas and suggestions from some countries and fleets including France, USA (Mission Bay), Argentina, Belgium, Croatia, United Kingdom and Italy.

As I said a good starting point for the Board, SCIRA countries, and fleets is to share ideas and experiences. Now I will try to summarize what I received, which hopefully will give you the Snipe sailors, fleet captains, Nationals secretaries and Board members some good inputs for improving Snipe activities at the local, national and international level.

I want to say thank you to all who responded, and I hope that other sailors will contribute their thoughts.

The third Kvarner Cup – South Europe Summer Circuit is behind us.We had two days of serious sailing and serious fun… I want to thank all of you participating at the regatta and specially to our Italian & Brazilian friends. This year quite different weather conditions from past years with a lot of good winds during Saturday & Sunday.
