New Dates Finalized for the Women’s World Championship in Saõ Paulo Image

Paola Prada, our Class Western Hemisphere Secretary from Brazil has confirmed the new dates for the Snipe Women’s World Championship on Guarapiranga Lake outside the Brazilian city of Saõ Paulo. Pack your bags for an October trip to Brazil. The Pre-Worlds Women’s Invitational will be held the weekend October 2 – 3, followed by the Championship October 5 – 9.

The regatta organizers have special charter fees for international teams and will help coordinate boat exchanges between international teams and Brazilian teams needing boats at the 2021 Western Hemisphere Championship, the 2022 Worlds, and other major events in Europe.

Guarapiranga Lake offers a mix of conditions. The Brazilian National Snipe Championship was held there in 2019 with 80 boats. The lake is home to some of the world’s most famous sailors in the Snipe, Star, and Finn classes, including Olympian Robert Scheidt. The Yacht Club Paulista will host the event.
