APRIL FOOLS’ DAY – THIS IS A JOKE

Retired U.S. Naval officer and veteran Snipe sailor, Doug Hart, has brokered the creation of a revolutionary partnership for SCIRA with the U. S. Navy.

The Navy’s top officers view as the future of their dominance on the surface of the world’s waterways a laser cannon, its magazine limited only by the amount of energy pumped into it and costing pocket change to fire, punching through an adversary’s cheap anti-ship weapons — at the speed of light.

In SCIRA’s partnership, SCIRA has agreed to test the weapon in exchange for having five donated to SCIRA for all future hemispheric and world championship regattas.

At the start of each race, the shipboard laser gun will be fired down the starting line.

Any boat left floating will be eligible to compete in that race. In a companion announcement, SCIRA has announced that there will be no option for an OCS boat to restart and no general recalls.
