On a Golden autumn afternoon on which a 5 knot breeze at the start dropped away, leading Race Officer Bill Moss to shorten the race after 4 legs, Tarasa Davis and Greg Kibbler of the Atlanta Yacht Club nipped the teams of Ray Schmidt/Elisa Silvera Adams of Boston and Don Hackbarth/Merrill Varn (AYC/Jacksonville Yacht Club)at the finish of the first race of the Snipe US Masters Championships held at the AYC on Georgia’s Lake Allatoona. AYC’s Darrell and Kris Van Hutten were 4th followed by Martin Bebb and Anne Lenox of Oklahoma city.
