Le Regate 2012 in Italia

Sunday, 29 January 2012 17:17

Today in Talamone

Thursday, 19 January 2012 19:04

Regate in Romagna – Mar Adriatico

Tuesday, 17 January 2012 22:31

Fourteen days online

Saturday, 14 January 2012 18:50

It has been two weeks since our website went online and the number of visitors is encouraging. Snipe sailors seem interested in SnipeToday.

But we would like to see to more participation. Fewer viewers, more actors.

Meanwhile, I emphasize that all items can be voted on and comments are encouraged.

Remember this site is our site, the site of all Snipe sailors! Do not be afraid to send your articles, your photos and videos.

I have been asked what SnipeToday is.

First of all we can say what it is not: SnipeToday does not compete with the S.C.I.R.A. official website, or with national or regional sites.

The Snipe Class is composed of many countries and Snipe sailors of different ages, levels and aspirations. Between countries and between the different fleets, there are quantitative and qualitative differences, traditions and ambitions.

Snipe U.S. Winter Circuit

Wednesday, 11 January 2012 21:55

Snipes are a highly migratory bird species. Well actually, I don’t know if that’s true, but I do know that Snipe sailboats—whether they’re from the JibeTech, Persson, DB Marine, Deimer, or other Snipe families—do like to migrate to Florida during the month of March to enjoy the Snipe Winter Circuit. The Winter Circuit really could be billed as “the ultimate vacation” for the collective Snipe family: sailing with great friends in tight competition in truly outstanding sailing conditions. The traditional Winter Circuit includes three regattas, and results from those three regattas are combined so that an overall Snipe Winter Circuit Champion can be named:

  • Snipe Midwinter Championship at Clearwater Yacht Club (racing this year is March 12-14)
  • DonQ at Coconut Grove Sailing Club (March 16-18)
  • Bacardi/Gamblin/Kelly Regattas, Royal Nassau Sailing Club (March 20-24)
