Lake Vanajavesi, August 2-4, 2013. Results and regatta report by Juha Lehtinen

The event was sailed at lake Vanajavesi, hosted by VVP (Vanajaveden Purjehtijat).

The wind was light, five races finished.

The winner Ville Aalto-Setälä with his daughter Eveliina (10 years).

 

The regatta was also celebrating one participating snipe, FIN 5555 Lalaika which won Finnish nationals 50 years ago, in the year 1963.

Lalaika was restored well and racing by local sailors Anssi Kasurinen / Arto Siukola

At wooden CI fleet there was five beautiful snipes. The “Mahlén Bowl winner was FIN 5625 “Woodstock”, built 1966, sailed by owner Henry and
Erik Nordenswan.

We also had six over 15 year old glassfiber boats Fleet CII, winner Timo Nurmi / Tommi Isotalo got “Karhu-pokaali” (Bear trophy)

All 25 boats were at same starting line, the races were tight and fair.
