Races started bright and early, with boats launched at 10:00 and the first gun at 11:00. Two races were completed in light air before a 180° wind shift that lead to 8 knots for the final two races. Peter Commette and Jensen McTighe swept the day, with Carol Cronin and Kim Couranz in second, and Jim Bowers and Julia Marsh in third. Prizes from Quantum Sails, Kinder Industries, and Atlantis Weathergear were raffled off, and the winners got their names engraved on two trophies. “Great hospitality and the venue is nice!” said Jensen McTighe, crew on the winning boat. “It was worth it!” chimed in junior competitor Andre Guaragne. “I came here with the purpose of testing out some sail combination and tuning for light air, and ended up getting nine fantastic medium to light races, and fresh caught haddock dinner, tough starting lines and challenging shifts. So we caught everything we came for, and more.” – Peter Commette, first place winner. Like they say… serious sailing, serious fun!
