Antwerp, March 15-16, 2014 Results, photos and regatta report by Jan Peeters Exciting short course racing at Antwerp Snipe Cup, BEL 21 Snipes from BEL, GER and ESP competed in the 7th Antwerp Snipe Cup. The 9 race series, without discard was sailed in force 3-5 Westerly winds. This means that the windward-leeward courses had to be laid on the short side of the lake in Antwerp, home of most Belgian Snipe sailors. When we say short, we mean realy short!! The legs were around 500m with first mark times around 2'50 to 3'00 minutes. Most races were 4 laps with lot of exciting mark roundings and a lot of place changes. ...

Ben Van Cauwenbergh and Nadia Deferm dominated the regatta with consistent top 3 finishes. Spanish sailor Victor Perez, sailing with local crew Margot Audenaerdt took 2nd place before Dirk De Bock and Yannick Bongaerts.
On Saturday night the sailors enjoyed a well deserved diner with a lottery with prices from our loyal sponsors Optiteam, Landtmeters, Patagonia and DB Marine.
