Frigid Digit – Final

Annapolis, October 3-5, 2014. Results after 8 races (1 discard).  The final day of the Frigid Digit reminded us all that the name is definitely appropriate. Warm hats and several layers were donned before sailing out to the starting line for the final two races, which took place in a puffy, shifty, northwester. Team O'Hare took the first race victory, followed by Reinke/Benner, John Coolidge/Samantha Ficksman, and JJ/Tracy Hall.

The final day of the Frigid Digit reminded us all that the name is definitely appropriate. Warm hats and several layers were donned before sailing out to the starting line for the final two races, which took place in a puffy, shifty, northwester. Team O’Hare took the first race victory, followed by Reinke/Benner, John Coolidge/Samantha Ficksman, and JJ/Tracy Hall.

The breeze had piped up quite a bit by the finish, so the RC chose a double triangle course for the final race. Unfortunately a large right shift turned the reaches into a run/tight reach, and when the wind died off again the second triangle was a parade led by regatta leaders Peter Commette/Megan Place. Henry Filter/Brian Stout, Cronin/Couranz, and Team Pline followed in their wake to the finish.

The event qualifies two teams for the 2015 Worlds in Talamone, Italy.

1. Peter Commette & Megan Place, 12

2. Carol Cronin & Kim Couranz/Connie Commette, 23

3. Gavin O’Hare & Holly O’Hare, 27

4. Eric Reinke & Amy Benner, 29

5. Jefferson Hall & Tracy Hall, 31
