Survival Sailing at Scharendijke
Scharendijke, August 9-10, 2014. Results and report by Andy Gibson
Every year the Scharendijke provides great snipe sailing weather in August.
This year the remnants of Hurricane Bertha passed over Northern Europe for the weekend of the Belgian Nationals.
With 25 competitors in attendance, 5 exciting triangle races were completed in between the gales.
Manu Hens & Alexandre Tinoco dominated the racing, recording four first places but letting Herman & Daan Vandormael through to victory in race 2 following a capsize.
In a very close battle for overall second place Norwegian Jostein Grodem just defeated Jan Peeters with Herman taking fourth..
