Cartagena, June 11-12, 2016. Report by Cesar Travado
During the last weekend, June 11-12 2016, took place the I Ruta Minera for Snipe Class in Cartagena.
The first day of sailing consisted of a route from RCR Cartagena to CN Portman (9 Nautic Miles to the east from Cartagena) divided in 3 stages with sunny and confortable windy conditions about 5-8 knots from southeast. The starting line for the first stage was set inside Cartagena Harbour at 13.30 h. After that, 2 more starts and 3 finish lines. We arrived to Portman around 16.30 h.
A great BBQ was offered in Portman to competitors on saturday night in an warm atmosphere and a great hospitality. Nice views, nice beach, nice sunset, nice friends; absolutely serious fun.
On sunday, 2 more races windward-leeward in front of the beach of Portman. The wind grow a little bit up to 9-10 knots.
No options were given by Hector Lopez & José Julio García that sailed a fantastic regatta.
“Enormous” is the word that comes to my mind to describe the work of Esperanza “seducer” Perez. Everything was perfect.
I want to thank to Blas Isaac Calventus, from CN Portman, for his enthusiasm and hospitality with Snipe Class and well organized BBQ and price giving party.
RCR Cartagena (Eduardo Gallego leading the fantastic and experienced onwater team) for thrusting this regatta.
Jorn Haga supported the event with technical long sleeve Tshirts.
For all of them, thank you.
For all the readers, you should mark this regatta in your calendar 2017.
